My photography aims to convey the material nature of my subjects. I am interested in providing a sensory, haptic experience by focusing on the worn nature of my subjects, which usually carry a strong visual weight. I find these subjects in landscape, industrial or architectural contexts. They also reflect my idea of beauty, which is characterized by roughened or cracked surfaces that speak of life and the passage of time.
I often contrast my subjects with lighter elements such as light itself.
This interest in my subjects is reflected in my preference for analog photography, as I feel its reliance on physical processes and artifacts adds to the materialistic feel of my work.
